Maybe something like this? EL Sheets? I guess they would have to be translucent though to let other colors thru.
Not worth the money. It's basicly a worthless feature that would add many thousands to the cost of the car.

I'll tell ya what... I don't care how crazy or stupid an idea you might have... anytime you (or anyone else here) has an invention... first stop would be to check for existing patents... if there is NOT one already owning your idea... you should apply for a design patent... do this BEFORE telling ANYONE about your idea... next step would be to empliment the idea... I will spare you the boring details but I have personally come up with a couple ideas for some kewl stuff in the past... I blew it off for lack of motivation and funds to take it to the next step... BOTH of the ideas I had are NOW available and making serious money IMO... I have since spoken to a small business person and will never pass up an idea... no matter how silly or stupid it is... if the idea has potential, you can always find financial backing... if your lacking the motivation (and the thought of making bank doesn't help you)... well your a worthless POS and should run yourself over with your own car... ok, just kidding on that last part! lol Good luck!

***Too many pieces and parts to list... maybe someday I'll show'm to ya!***
What is the first step to getting an idea/invention patented? I read big companies steal patents from the little guys. I guess that could be some kind of conspricy theory thing.
confidentiality letter before you even tell them..
This way, ifd they do it, and you can prove it, you get most of what they made...
Now if they sell the idea and you can't prove it, your screwed
I've heard something somewhere about paint that changes color when subjected to an electric charge. It'd be really cool to have on your car, but I think it only does two colors. Then again, if you can make lots of different colors that all go transparent, you could always layer them.
This sounds like just the kind of thing James Bond would have on his car. You know, the bad guys are chasing him and he pulls into a garage and hits a button...pow! The license plate spins around and the car changes from red to black...
