Lilliput flickering yellow, any idea what's loose? Quicktime vid..

This has been driving me absoutely crazy for the past 2 months or so. I'm not sure what the problem is but it's very sensitive to the road bumps etc. Theres a yellow or golden hue over the entire screen which completely destroys all color whatsoever.. When you touch the wire and start moving it it just flickers normal/yellow/normal/yellow etc.. Anyone know what might be loose? I've never even taken apart a screen before so I don't know what to even look at.. If you can play quicktime movies heres a link to a quicktime video I took of me just shaking the wire a little bit.. It's kinda small and I shoulda put the camera in a little closer, but if you watch you can see what's happening basically.. Thanks for any help!

It could be the ribbon cable that goes to the screen that's inside. When I first took my lilliput apart, and then put it back together, I noticed a yellow/golden hue. I would move the cable a little bit and everything was normal. Yours might be a little loose. But wait for a few more suggestions before you start taking the thing apart. I permanently damaged my ribbon cable when I tried to clean it (thinking it was dirty). Now I dont' get anything except a white screen.

I'm still waiting on my replacement cable to see if everything will work again.

Just watched you video, and that's exactly what happened with mine, so I'm pretty sure that might be it.

yeah its got to be the cable
my home moniter would do the same thing until i tightened the screws
so yeah just inspevt the ribbon cable and make shure all vedio data cables are tight

I have the same problem with a Lilliput here except for mine has the yellow hue to it all of the time.

The reason I think it's something to do with the signal coming in is that the Screen's menu appears in normal colours without the yellow 'tint' to it.

I'm going to take my Lilliput apart and see if it's something inside.

Great, thanks for the info guys.. I've never taken this thing apart before, before I do is there any little peices that are loose that may fall out on me and I have no clue where they would go back? If it'll all stay together I should be fine doing it..

I took mine apart today and I've checked all the ribbon cables, taken them out and replaced them in nice and snug.

I tested the screen having done this and it made no difference - still showing yellow.

I then took the screen apart again and took the main board out from the back casing and had a look at the wires coming from the VGA cable. All the connections look fine and are covered in a glue to protect the joins.

I'll see if i can take a picture of the cable coming in and the soldering to see if there's anything amiss.

My screen looks just likes Slayer6669's but permanently!

the reason the menu is the norm. color is because like i said.
"the signal cable is loose" so the moniter thinks that the comp is displaying yellow.
but the menu is self rendered by the lilliput so it knows what colors it should be.

just replace the ribbons

Yeah, I understand the principles behind the problem and have confirmed it further by trying out the AV inputs - gave perfectly coloured video output.

Whereabouts can I buy ribbon cables to fit my Lilliput from? DigitalWW or somewhere similar?

i ordered mine from digitalww last week but havent heard anything about my order, and can not get a hold of the the guy either by phone or email , so im trying digikey.com but the problems is they got a million and one cables. But i contacted there tech support and i think i got the right cable, it should be here saturday or so, if it works ill let you know.
