i read nothing but problems with these screens sold here, after some light research it seems these two brands have a monopoly on the market, i may have to buy a laptop and gut it if i cant find a reliable/dependable option. they can put whatever name they want on it, there are only a handfull of lcd producers in the world.
Everything seems like crap on the internet. Check out an automotive forum. Nobody posts about how great their screens work lol!
this ought to be good.....
what defines crappy? I have a lilliput 8 inch screen and have no issues with it? Please define "Crap"
also, being restricted to 1/4 vga is gay. anyone know the smallest screen with full resolution?
OMG, I don't think you have a clue of what you are talking about. You need to read more. There have been almost no reported problems with the Xenarc screens. Some people have problems with the Lilliputs (I have never had a problem) but that is it.
why would i consider purchasing a product with so many issues. "YOU" may have gotten a good one but what about the hundereds who have not.Originally Posted by John Crowe

I run a small car audio shop in milwaukee WI and i wouldent expect to stay in business very long with business practices as this. im currently looking to expand my services to in car computing. To keep up with the pioneer and kenwood i have to offer a dependable product, with more features that their produce. As a ethical business owner, if a customer has a problem i do whatever i can to fix it. (including bitting the bullet and taking a hit to my profits doing so.)
In short i refuse to install a product in my customers cars, that has so many known issues. Im looking for more options short of buying directly for sharp sone nec as i run a "small business" and dont have the resorces to purchase 100 units.
Xenarc screens are reasonably priced and are of a very high quality.
I changed from Lilliputs as I like yourself am reselling them.
I'd resell Xenarc screens if I were you - but then that's just my opinion
In response to your comment about all the reported problems... You can't take that as the sole factor for not getting one. No offense to anyone but you don't know what they people are doing and how technical they are when they are having these problems. Also, almost no one posts about NOT having problems so of course you going to read just about problems.
Just my 2 cents.. I have a 7" Lilli and it's been working w/ no problems.
