Touchscreen freezes w/ gps or bluetooth

I'm sure I'me not the first one to run into this... Probably a quick fix...

Everytime I plug in my Rikaline 6010 USB-GPS, or my Zonet ZUB6110 Bluetooth USB Dongle, the Xenarc touchscreen freezes.

Some kinda com port conflict maybe???

    Bump.

Update. Everything seems to be installed happily, until I start up Routis. The gps starts up fine, data streams down appropriately, but after a few seconds the first click on the touchscreen will freeze it and I have to alt-f4 routis.

    thanks for any ideas.

Your carputer is just trying to tell you it doesn't like to be touched there

Have you tried killing the touchscreen tray app, swapping out the USB ports either touchscreen or GPS is plugged into, have you tried the same hardware on another computer?

Yeah, I feel like I've tried everything at this point.

Actually removing the touchtray fixed a different problem I was having... Thanks.
    touchpad thread

In Summary, my touchscreen still freezes everytime the Bluetooth Dongle is installed, or anytime Routis is actively using the GPS.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled: Routis, Touchkit, GPS drivers, frodoplayer 1.09T2

Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Yes. Is that a problem? It's a 7 port, powered hub.

Yes. For no apparent reason some USB devices don't play well with others. I don't think it's bandwidth limit or 1.1/2.0 conflicts. Just remove one from the hub and see if the other 2 work. When you find which one it is, put it on a seperate main USB controller (motherboard port)... if that's what's wrong.

Is it possible that I'm not providing enough power to it? I'm using a 6volt car charger as the power supply, but the amp rating was not as high as the included ac charger. Fuse hasn't blown yet, that I know of. hmmm? maybe I oughta check that it's still providing power.

I wouldn't think it's power but you can check the total amps used by finding the 7 port hub in device manager. Look in "Universal Serial Bus controllers" at the bottom and right click on "Generic USB hub" (probably) and hit Properties. Under the Power tab it shows the power used by each device. See if the total is anywhere near adapter's output. I really think it's the bluetooth dongle though. There's also the thing with the PS/2 port (touchpad) which is usually on IRQ 12 and it could be that the USB port that your hub is plugged into is on 12 as well. What fun, huh?
