I had that same problem using a 2x20 parallel OLED display... but I was running a different application. It's a timing issue... I think there was a setting to slow it down that fixed it for me... sorry I don't know more about mpxplay
I running MPXPLAY 4X40LCD on LPT1. All Pentium1 motherboards i have tryed seam to print double character to the LCD. Example "AACCDDCC" for "ACDC"
All pentium2 motherboards dont have the above problem. Anyone have a Clue?

I'll look into different timing settins in the mpxplay.ini... Alot of people keep saying to change the LPT1 port type. I have tryed (ECP, EPP, Bi-Directional, Compatible). ECP & EPP are the best, Bi-Dir and Comp type screw up the LCD even worse....
