    DVI vs. VGA cables

hi, this might be a little off topic, but I'm trying to figure out if there is any difference between the two cables. I plan on connecting my projector (DVI-D & VGA input) up to my home pc (DVI-I & VGA output). I will only be mainly watching DVD movies, HDTV, and maybe some other things on the pc. Now I wonder if there would be any quality difference between a VGA or DVI cable. The cable will be between 5 to 10 meters in length. Any information would be greatly appreciated..

its quite simple: the VGA is an analog video connection...its been around forever. DVD-D is a digital video connection.

DVI's usually provide a better quality picture as long as you are using all DVI equipment (video card and LCD...in this case, a projector). however, DVI cables are almost 2 to 3 times more expensive then VGA.
