Will a 8" xenarc (without casing) fit?

I have an 05 mustang and the radio area looks double din yet I'm not sure. The size if 7.5 x 4.75.

I know I could get a 7" in there with the casing but anyone think I could get an 8" in there without the casing? I have probably and inch extra space all the way around so I could increase the space if need be.

Just wanted to see what you guys thought or if anyone else has done this.

I am going to go the similar route as you with the screen. If your measurements are right above for the stock double din facia then the new screen is 6.74"x4.26".

That leaves about a .5" on the bottom of the din and I bet you could dremmel down a tad more to get a dvd drive in there and make it look right.

So i think this will work

BTW I have a mustang gt on order
