There is not tv tuner on a market that works. I even spend almost $400 on clarion tv tuners. They are not worth it. DOnt work unless you are close to tv stations.

Couple of things I notice from this unit: -

The VGA connection is a vga port rather than a pigtail or whatever you call them. This means you'll need an extra 2-3 inches of clearance to connect your VGA cable.

Even when closed it looks like a "nickable" item. Would be much more desirable if when closed it looked like nothing.

Still, a step in the right direction for some.

Car changed for TVR Griffith 500, so computer de-installed. Using a Dension 100ix w/60Gb HD unit in the interim.

I agree, some with shallow dash space might find this a problem. A smaller end might help. Digging for a couple minutes turned up this.

Or making your own by cutting off the end of your existing cable and rolling your own with a 15pin D-SUB connector. Here is a right angle housing example.

If reliability turns out well, the hard part has been completed. Details like buttons and plastic trim can be improved as time goes on.

Personally, I've been waiting over a year for this. Very excited and will be ordering when available.

of course, if theft is an issue, you can always pull the old stock headunit trick. find a really crappy looking stock headunit on ebay that is not only cheap, but ideally broken. cut off the face and make it hollow. when you leave the car, put it OVER the closed screen and it looks like you have a POS headunit, not worth stealing...

    I'm excited, too.
The price point is definitely on. The pics on DigitalWW's site look nice.

Gotta lose the blue LEDs for orange to match the dash of my truck, though....
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

I noticed that he lowered the prices on his other in dash units. The Lilliput version going for $400 and the Xenarc version for $450. Now I have another problem in my life. Get the tried and true non-motorized or the shiny and new motorized.

gubon13 - Even with a degree in Sociology you aren't being very sociable now are you...

But seriously, I reread the thread and the site and still couldn't find reference to anyone that has bought the motorized version. If you know of a thread, be a good chap and point me to it, eh?

Otherwise, the question still stands, thanks everyone.
