But seriously, I reread the thread and the site and still couldn't find reference to anyone that has bought the motorized version. If you know of a thread, be a good chap and point me to it, eh?

Otherwise, the question still stands, thanks everyone.
I think what you were being told is that the screen is not shipping until February sometime, so no-one will have received one yet.

Therefore, they won't be able to tell you if it's any good.

Thats not one of those diversity TV antenna outputs is it? Will the reception be that much better than the PC's reception if it isn't?

If you look at the pictures on Armens' site, the bottom pictures show the unit in comparison to the non-motorised version. It protrudes a long way, meaning that it wouldn't look factory fitted, and screams 'steal me'.

I would like a motorised version, but with those dimensions, I'll stick with my non-motorised one.

Most head units have a screw in spacer on the back to butt up against the bulkhead/vents etc. I would take your HU out and measure the depth you have before writing the screen off. Personally i would consider modifying my dash internals if it meant the difference between motorised and non-motorised.

Yes but if you look here -

the black piece of plastice trim shows where the unit starts protruding from the dash, if you push it in anymore it will probably interfere with the operation of the screen. It must have to be like this to work.

all these in dashers seem to have the screen held above the DIN slot rather than centred about it- All my cars temp dials are directly above the DIN slot! I am fearing i will not have access to these dials with the screen out? Anyone with a peugeot 406 or similar and an in-dash have any such problems? Feedback would be appreciated. this is a big concern.

Can you swap the locations? Or relocate the AC controls?
