Thread: Why does my Lilliput 8" screen role during startup, & only in startup? Please help

I have no idea what is causing it, but until you find a solution, you can avoid seeing the Windows XP loading screen if you are using XP SP2.
Run the System Configuration Utility (msconfig), go to BOOT.INI tab and select NOGUIBOOT.
Why don't send an email to you supplier, see if you can send it back (RMA).

Is it VGA or Composite??

As to your problem, sounds to me like the 12 volt power is getting pulled down too far on start, get a bigger battery?

I know its not the power, because I have had it powered by three different sources. The original egg, the first power supply I used, which was 400 watts, and now the M1-ATX. I am using VGA, let me know if I can switch to a composite, and I might try it. I set the bios to CRT screen, and thought that might help, I might try some other configurations. Its just strange that it only does it when running the check at system start up, and when it says
"windows starting" I think, not after windows opens.

Hmm, see your point, it was a 3 in the morning after being frustrated by installing everything, and then one of the files in my sound blaster got corrupted, and I don't have a freakin CD player to run a reinstall. It would definitely be "roll"

It also did it when I had the computer in the house with the screen right next to it, and the VGA cable was a few feet long. But not when I used a normal size screen.

I got rid of the scrolling when I boot after I changed my boot logo. I ended up using the program at http://www.belchfire.net/~userxp/indexbe.htm that saved my a**. I jacked up the computer and couldn't logon after I did the supposed simple way. But this program adds a kernel I believe to boot.ini. Somehow it fixed the scrolling for that point allthough I still get in bios. But hey, better then nothing. If you want to change your boot logo screen in xp, I highly recommened using that software, its simple, plus it gives you two boot options when you restart in case there is a problem, but it won't let you screw up.

Man, I was having the problem with the screen rolling during startup. I changed the bios to CRT+LCD, and it fixed the boot screen from rolling, and the hibernating screen which rolled as well, plus the first screen that tells you to hit delete from rolling. But, the bios screens that did not roll before, the ones between the first bios screen and the boot graphic, are now white lines. What the hell. Now if I try to go to the bios after selecting CRT+LCD, it is a black screen with a white line, so I can't tell what the hell is going on to change anything. It doesn't make any damn sense to me. I dont' know which way I like better. It wouldn't be that bad, but the bios screens right before the boot logo are all white lines that aren't steady. Has this crap happened to anyone else, or is it just me. Its driving up the freaking wall, I don't know if its the M10000 or the 8" lilliput, or just some other option in the bios setting that I am missing. I can plug a normal monitor into the computer right now and get the bios screen just fine. If anyone has any ideas, settings in bios, please let me know.
