At first I was wondering what the hell you were thinking...then I look at your avy...and the fact you're from West Hollywood...and Its all starting to add up.
You don't plan on having the car for 10 years because you know it won't last And what does the fact that I'm from West Hollywood have to do with anything? We have another member who owns a carputer business and he's from West Hollywood too...

I am an *** And when someone mentions a Hyundai I automatically think of the word lemon You also never see them without body damage. We have an ugly buy Hyundai at our school and when the bumper got damaged instead of replacing/repairing it, the owner glued in a poem there

My grandma's sentra with 117hp could get up to 60 after a few minutes. And my grandma shifts the car to reverse without fully stopping it, but the tranny shows no signs of deteriaration.

It really doesn't matter what make/year of vehicle you carputer is going as long as yor doing it. Hell my 914 is gonna get one as soon as I finish the Jeep. The other two are already done. I haven't gone as all out as some on this list mine are mainly for mp3 playback and are typically left over machines from various projects.
I think putting carputers in Hyundais just associates carputers with cheap little bastards. The ideology: I got a new car that doesn't have a nav system, and I don't want to buy one because its too expensive, so I'll just glue some **** together and that should be good. Then they will go around claiming they got this great carputer and everyone will laugh.

People who buy old cars buy them because they are
    1) Cheap
    2) Love the car

I'm the #2 guy. I could have gotten a new car (base RSX) but I said to myself that I didn't want to buy a FWD honduh, esp. since it would cost my family more, and I could have a tastefully modded lexus, which is much better than the base RSX, for less than a stock RSX. Decision was easy for me.

I know you will emotionally scarred for the rest of your life driving a ****-brown car...

Nah, I still know that hyundais are **** and should not have carputers.

it's the POS 210hp engine, but that was the point. it ain't fast at all. on the other hand, i can load up 800lbs in the bed and it doesn't feel any slower. (i say this from experience.) why? nothing like torque! lol.

did the racecar thing before with my 92 s13 240sx. raced it into the ground. never had a single problem until about 200k miles when the engine finally went. well, part of it, anyhow. running on 3 cylinders = NOT fun.

wait, what was this thread about, again?

I bet that 3 cylinders ain't fun. But thinking about it, if one of my cylinders was to fail, I'd basically have a volvo

And last question: why are so many people putting carputers into crap cars
Dude, I've enjoyed reading quite a few of your responses on this forum, but damn... this was uncalled for. If this was any sport, boxing included, you would be ejected for unnecessary roughness. Everyone works with what they got, do you really expect people to go out and buy a car you approve of to fit their carputer in?

Yes, some people think the Elantra's are ugly or what not, but that has nothing to do with it being a "crap" car. And "cheap" cars don't mean that they are bad. Echo is indeed butt ugly, but it is a damn reliable car, and sad to say, it is quicker than yours (and even more so than mine).

As far as for Korean cars, you should check the latest data on them, they are what Japanese were back in the early 80's, they are coming strong and getting better all the time.

Anyways, I am hoping to see less of emotional statements like "your car is crap" and see more of "this does/doesn't work" The person decided to do something with their car, good for them, if you don't approve of the car, it seriously has nothing to do with the question the person is asking. Hope to see more of your USEFUL inputs in the future.

CHILL GUYS: Elantro can i ask you summit....

The pics you put up on the 1st post of the LCD - do you have any more pics?

It looks as thought the touchscreen controller is on the right - i presume this is separate. is there a ribbon cable connecting the LCD to the rear circuit board? You may be able to get a slightly longer one and rotate your board. Alo can you get some measurements of the screen parts and your dash as you may be able tos et the screen back a little with the board in the dash either sice of the opening and then make a nice recessed bezel from wood and bondo etc.

looking at the LCDs they have there i think you would be better getting a Xenarc or summit that people use on here. If you strip on of them down it will fit in the space you no probs. I see the circuit board on the one you were looking at being a big pain in the butt.
