How are you powering your PC? I think that carnetix regulators has an extra plug-in that may do the job for you. Someone verify or correct me on that.
Hi, new to the forums. I want to hook a PSOne LCD screen to my PC. The problem is I don't know how I should regulate the power to 7.5v. I'm guessing some kind of DC-DC converter that will do 12VDC->7.5VDC. Anyone have suggestions on what part(s) to use or any other solutions. Thanks.

Pretend I just had the 5v and 12v source given by the power supply. Simply because I do.
Go to any game store and pick up one of those cig power adapter for PSOne. Otherwise buy one of those universal/multiple output from wallmart/radiosuck and well game store.

Well, if you could put +12 on the positive and +5 on the negative for 7V...
Dunno if that would actually work.
+12v for postive and +5v for negative would give you 7v of power, I would assume that would work
(from a standard molex connector in a computer, 12v is yellow, 5v is red)
couldnt u use a resistor? i think its ohms law. volts/amp?
Um, are you sure about the 7v thing? That...doesn't sound like it'd work. Sounds more like it'd short out. I'll try it anyhow because my lcd screen appears to be broken.
Yeh, I didn't do it with the LCD screen, and just as I thought, it created a short(NOTHING FRIED)
how did it create a short? it's not supposed to. the only thing that happens is the voltage drops to 7 volts. that's an easy "fan speed hack" if you want to quiet the fans in your computer down, instead of running at their full 12 volts.
yellow wire is 12v, red wire is 5v (from a molex connector coming from the computers PSU)
you should be able to hook up the 12v where the positive should go to the psone, and then the 5v wire should go to where the negative should go to the psone screen.
no shorts, just the difference in volts. I don't know if this would power the screen, but it does not create a short. you can try googling 7v fan speed hack or something to get more info
