Any way to rotate Touchscreen via software???

Hey guys,

Is there anyway I can rotate my touchscreen by using software??? i.e a different driver??

if u mean rotate as in make the monitor move this is easy and doesnt even need the PC to be connected...u can program a micro or purchase one that controls a servo used in RC hobby...

if u mean change inputs i am *not sure*(keywords here

) software can do it on its own unless all the feeds are through the PC...there of course is another slightly harder but also very effective way of doing it but lets see what your looking for first...

I've just checked the TouchKit User Manual that came on a CD with my Lilli monitor and it would appear that there is a facility to rotate the display and touchpanel in increments of 90 degrees. The software is version 3.1.4 and maybe fairly recent as I've only just had my Lilli delivered. Sadly, I've got no web facility to upload it to and it won't email as it's 130mb. Where in the UK are you? Haven't used the rotate so can't vouch for it.

Chapter 4. MONITOR ROTATION SETTING
TouchKit driver package for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP provides two easiest ways to
rotate the touch panel while the display is rotated.
l Rotating display by way of nVidia or ATI driver
l Rotating display by way of Pivot.
4.1 Rotating display by way of nVidia or ATI driver
1. After activating the rotation of nVidia or ATI driver, there will be one blinking
symbol show as the following picture. Touch near the blinking symbol until stop
blinking, and the touch panel will rotate itself.

Cheers rustyboxx .... I had seen that on my drivers but it won't rotate for some reason, not sure why, although thinking its to do with the graphics card/drivers ... I can see an ATI havign to be installed just to turn the screen around .... grrrr .... annoying.

do you want to rotate the entire display or just the touchpanel controls?

if it's the former then there are a couple of threads somewhere, i think the people used either the video card drivers (ATI deffo can do this - i have one) or you can get a free screen rotate prgram from the people who make powerstrip - apparently it is pretty light on resources.

If it's the latter, i think the touchscreen panel can be rotated by flipping the ribbon cable (from the panel to the controller NOT the controller to the main PCB as this will definitely blow the controller) but i am nowhere near 100% on that.

Its pretty much both as I've had to mount the screen upside down to get it to fit without the buttons getting in the way (i.e hidden).

I was sure I tested the screen beforehand to see what it looked like but there is a small strip of silver visible from the screen so am having to mount it upside down and do all the clever stuff with software, failing that I may just bastardise the screen bezel further - might be simpler than messing with drivers etc ..... although it may be beneficial to go with the ATI Card anyway as I have one lying around.

i'd try the rotate software from the powerstrip place first and do a search on the touchpanel ribbon cable - i am sure someone put a lilliput cable in upside down once and it flipped the touch. Does the calibration fix the upsdie down issues for you?
