these might be brass rods.... kinda like brazing rather than sweating...

the plate assy tranfers so much heat that I can hardly get each connection hot enough.... so much for a pretty looking box, it looks like a barbeque at this point

two more leaks sealed, waiting for cooling..... it takes a long time because this is like like 20LB's of copper/aluminum, the copper plate is awsome for heat tranfer... this backlight is going to work awsome...... if I ever finish it......

lcd barbaque..... but holds 150 psi, all except for one fitting, I'll fix it tommorow

wow, I just re-read this thread & realized that it's been 5 months since I started this, & 4 out of the 5 i've had no pc in the car

I think it should be back in final real soon, can't wait to finish the bezel & paint it & call it done,,,,

I,m undecided still whether I'm going to paint the dash bezels matte silver grey, or gloss black..... I have a new odessey in the shop this week & it has gloss black trim bezels.... it looks pretty slick..... might just go that route

I epoxied the lines to reinforce, seal & make sure it never leaks.... it sits right above my pc so a leak could be trouble more than just a wet carpet

it's pretty close to done, just have to finish the final lense & mount up & wire the led's....

first I used a liquidy flowing epoxy to fill any leaks & all crevices....

then I reinforced the tubing structure with a stronger epoxy....

cleaned prepped & painted the whole inside with a high heat engine paint..... used a nickel at each led point so the led's will directly contact the copper with heat transfer compound....
