You can use GammaControl to change the brightness/contrast/gamma![]()
just installed this, now I can honestly say this is really perfect..... better than I had hoped it would be...... I played around with the display properties & got my colors right..... white is white, etc... I have the panel brightness control bottomed all the way down in properties.....there are different programs used to further color correct for like photographers, I may play with that later.
the screen is nice with the led's all the way down....... beautiful picture.....even lighting except the top which is out right now..... it dims pretty low too, as low as you could want it to within reason..... awsome
when I turn up the led's 1/4 turn this screen is bright.... real bright..... beats the alpine at this point, (which beat the lilli originally by a lot) from there it just gets brighter...& brighter..... at full brightness this is rediculously bright...... and the colors still look pretty good since the lcd panel brightness is all the way down..... remember this is only 2/3 of the led's lit
if I go into propertys & turn the panel brightness up when the leds are all the way up this gets super super bright... too bright to use I think.... at that point it starts to look a little washed out, but there is no way I would ever need it up that high.......with the panel brightness all the way down the picture is still nice & vivid even at led full brightness
this is dimmed, not quite all the way:

the temperature is not a problem when these led's are turned down to normal.... I won't need my pump to run continueosly in this system..... more like a thermostat that kicks on when necissary...... the pump will be necissary if I run this at or close to full brightness for 15 minutes or more..... the temperature will be well under control........ this is also good because now I can definately add the pc processor to the liquid cooling circuit without fear of the led's being too hot & raising the whole system temp too high... I can now have no cooling fans in the front cabin..... totally silent carpc....
this is screen cranked up.... the alpine above it at max brightness also for comparison :

I want to dim automaticaly with a photosensor....
I had these running a few hours.... I checked everything & I really think the pwr supply that went bad was just a fluke.... the other two are fine & I switched them back & forth to differnt banks of led's.... no problems at all
I don't think pwm can be used here really, these power supplies are internally regulated.... I do need to come up with a pwm control for the water pump though..... I don't need it to go full blast & I don't want to regulate flow with restriction.... that would just unecissarily raise the system pressure, Id rather slow the pump down.... any ideas?

thanks alti... it was fun to do a start to finish thread.... not that it's even finished yet..... next is cosmetics on the bezels & sourcing a touchscreen..... I would like to do glass if that's possible.... now that the screen is finally in I'm going to work on finding something.
I find some touchscreen overlays that are tall enough, but then there too wide.... I don't know if that can be compensated for through calibration..... like a 13.3" 4:3 overlay works perfect except a bit too wide.... I haven't found anything made for a 12.1" widescreen yet.... I thought I may be able to do without touch, but naaaaah...., gotta have it![]()
