Thread: 800X1280 narrowscreen???

had this in for a week now....& it's been raining for a week too, so I haven't been able to really see what it can do in bright sun.... this weekend was beutiful though & I finally got to test this..... the alpine screen is shrouded so it's real hard to wash it out completely, but you can see that where the sun does hit the alpine upper screen, it is washed out..... the computer screen though is very readable..... it looks pretty wild in person to see...... the only time I've ever seen anything like this has been on an itronix laptop that I used to have with a transflective b&w display....., I couldn't get this to wash out no matter what I did.... I couldn't ask for more really.... just gotta hope the touchscreen don't change this too much......

now I can finally remove the 5% limo tint from my front windows, 15% will be fine I think

by the way the screen looks great you can put 3 ts overlays on it and probably see no difference

yeah, I still haven't had the time to research the ts yet, what's better for glare again, was it capacitive? I think the resistive is the bad but common one.... there are several others, acoustic wave etc..... gotta get back into searching for that...... any input as to what I should be looking at????

cap screen is better than resistive.

Clearer and less glare. Also as they are clearer you can use an antireflective coating.

will it still work with a finger.... I don't want to have to use a stylus or anything.....

wont work with a stylus unless its a special stylus.

the capacitive needs a condutor - like the human body - to work.

a regular plastic stylus wont work.

ah, ok, now I remember.... it's like a laptop mouse touch pad..... that's prolly what I'll shoot for..... the widescreen part is going to make it more difficult & narrow my choices significantly I think..... gotta start searching this.....
