Frustrated with my digital WW board....

I've got everything hooked up and am still having no success. I've tried everything I can think of. I still get the power on, pc, then turn off screen, and that's it. I get no picture. I tried the new ribbon, I've tried everything I can think of.

At this point I'm ready to "unfabricate" my entire interior and put it back to stock because I don't know what else to do and I need to get my vehicle on the road.

The only time it worked was the first time when I had it hooked up in my room. Since then I've not had much luck. The green power light is lit, and I know it's getting at least the ability to show images since I can read the text, but what is going wrong? I'm stumped and about at the end of my rope.

I'm ready to order an alpine and drive this @#$% #$@%^$#@5r thing with a 5 iron.

Well, it's out of the truck. Hooked it up to a regulated power supply and nothing.


I'm fed up. The whole thing is coming out. Armen has been great helping me out, he fixed the board for me, but this project I guess just isn't for me, which is a shame because my dash looked great. Oh well, anyone wants a shroud for a f150, lightning, a brand new never used carnetix powersupply, or any other part of this system let me know.

I've been working on this whole setup for well over a month. When I first got the screen I had it running in my room on a power supply. Later I hurt it somehow, sent it to Armen, he repaired it and said it worked for him. Now I get it back, installed and first I get the white screen.

Then I get the "power on" "pc" "power off" Now I get nothing.

I'm fed up plain and simple. I hope maybe he would take it back. But I understand if he won't, I'm just out the money. I'm gonna buy a new alpine HU and a f$%#%$g Ipod.

Sad part is I fabricated SO MUCH in my truck and now I have to put it all back to stock.

Wait, wait, wait! This stuff can be incredibly difficult to figure out. Now, give us some more details about what's happening.

1. What is your setup? What kind of screen? What kind of motherboard you have.

2. When you power up, does the system load up? Fan starts, disk drive runs, do you get the Windows startup music?

If so, it sounds as if the VGA signal isn't getting to the screen so it powers up, doesn't see a signal and shuts off. This can happen on VIA Epia's. The bios gets whacked and for some reason or another it starts outputting only to the S-Video.

If this is sounding like what your symptoms are, connect a cable from the S-Video out of the Via to your television set. If you've got an S-Video input, great. Otherwise, you'll have to get an S-Video to RCA adaptor. They're pretty inexpensive.

If your computer boots on the television, RELAX! Your problem is solved. Boot it into Bios and change the setting that controls the video ouput to LCD or LCD&CRT. Connect the computer to your monitor and it ought to work.

I hope that's your issue. Otherwise, give us some more details and we'll try to help. It sounds like you are so close -and we've all been there, driving around with plate sized holes in our dashboards for weeks at a time.

I'm using a laptop for signal.

I know it works, it's the same setup I was using at a previous date and it worked then. I'm just beyond frustration at this point and need to get my truck back together as I'm going to be getting to the track again soon.

I'm using a brand new ribbon cable, and a brand new VGA cable, so I'm not sure how signal could not be getting there.

I've tried with the laptop open, and closed, it works on my monitor upstairs.

hehe yea, its all part of the fun having no dash for 1-4 months. Once you get it working you will be glad you didint give up.

So it seems like your lcd may be messed up, so you are gona undo all what youve done cause of that? tell us what screen it is, a lot of us had probelms and the forum fixed them for us.

Totally man ... My project started in Nov 04 and I still have a big hole in my dash. Yeah man ... give us more info so we can help you out. I'm sure half of us have dealt with the white screen of death before.

That's pretty much my setup....did some more work to make the dash look better, but now I get to beat it with a hammer
