    Xenarc troubles

    My Xenarc display always displays arbitray resolutions. When I set the video mode for 800x600 it tries to do 7** x 5**. With 640x480 it displays some other resolution. What in the world could be causing this? Thanks in advance.

    Make sure you have the correct video drivers installed, check the web to make sure that your drivers are the latest and "greatest"..

    Now check and see if there is a BIOS update that you need to apply, if so apply it.

    Make sure that all connections are tight and secure and that there are no conflicts in "device manager"

    If none of these help at least you have narrowed your field of troubleshooting to just a hardware issue...

    Try plugging the xenarc into another system and see if it acts the same way..

    I've also found that when the screen can't detect the correct resolution it is because the wrong frequency is being sent by the grapahics card, changeable by going to Display Properties, Settings tab, Advanced, Adapter tab, then click List all modes and choose an alternative Frequency.
