I know that alot of people have fried their eggs but, I didnt think that it has ever hurt anything other than the egg. If I'm risking my psu and or screen, then I'll cut it off.

I think that you wouldn't want to use it just for the decreased voltage to your monitor. There has to be a small voltage drop across the egg and this would have the side effect of making your monitor the slightest bit dimmer.

Ah, the voltage into the lilliput affects it's brightness? Huh! Maybe running it directly off the acc line makes more sense after all

The extra voltage drops due to the (in theory) unnecessary extra regulator was one of my worries but I thought it just meant the lilliput might shut down a bit earlier than it might otherwise when running off my tank circuit battery after switching the car off. And that's not really a scenario I'm too concerned about for my usage.

The egg is just a 12V 1A regulator. The 7" lilliput draws a little over 1A from what everyone says so it's a little dim. A direct connection to the car would be 14.4+ and probably fry it quick. Connecting to the 12V of the PSU or a 1.5A regulator is better and safe.

With the egg and a separate PC dc regulator being different, I see some wavy interference on the screen. I suspect this will go army when I use the PC regulator to power the Lilliput.
