Good post. Good info there. Yeah, I took off the bottom cover as well in the front, and found a nice empty space.
i picked up a 700idt and it seems to be working pretty well.
so far my only complaint is that every now and then the blue volumn box will come on and not go away. i have to turn off the lcd for about 30 secs and then it works fine again.
Portugal: mine came with a liyitek touch screen. I did not install the drive that came with it. i believe it was version 3.3.2. on liyitek's website they have a new driver 3.3.4. i installed that driver and in the liyitouch v3.3.4 program and can adjust several things in the "Parameter" tab. Just make sure to press "Alt-A" to unlock the buttons so you can save your changes. (i had to adjust mine twice, because i didn't notice the note the first time.)
for those of you wondering about the inside of it, i've had mine apart...i couldn't resist on the inside of the faceplate there is an brack the is 5.25" wide and 0.5" high..prefect for a slim line dvdrom. there are also four screw holes drilled and tapped that would allow you to mount the dvdrom.
instead of mounting the dvdrom inside the lcd, i decided to move the circuit board closer to the front (about 2"). then i cut the back panel so that i could poke all the cables through. i also remove the U-brackets on the back panel. this allowed me to push the lcd further into the dash.
i apologize if this info has already been post on another thread. i didn't see anything in this thread, so i thought i would put in my two cents.
Good post indeed, did you took any pictures ??Originally Posted by muskrat_waxer

was the cable badly connected?
what did you do in particular?
Pulled the screen out of the dash after it wouldn't display from any computer, and found that the cable never latched properly to the hooks on the back. It eventually came completely off. I reconnected it, and made sure the hooks had it anchored, and all was good.
found a motorized in dash at a swedish import companys homepage.
