how about using a projector pointed at the windshield as a full size overlay HUD. I'll bet that if you used the right projector you'd get enough reflection of the plain glass to see it in the middle of the day. You'll just need some means to dimm it based on outside conditions.

It would work great for overlay targeting for a pair of 50 cal machine guns mounted behind the headlights

pioneer elite is the only company that knows how to make a fixed pixel display. hitachi directors series arent bad either. Both of those companies manufacture their own panels too, but the rest are downright awful and give the technology a bad reputation (LG mainly)

As for the flipout who said anything about DIN ?? It's in my ranger under construction.... I've completely fabricated a brand new dash frame and wiring harness and put a 97 mustang GT dash in it.... 95 cobra seats with new two tone leather, working on the rest.... Running all the wiring for the carputer and all the amps etc... I've fabbed a new center console from scratch, and gave my self a big section to mount any size flipout I want.... Heck, I wish someone made a flipout housing for my 10.4" screen that I have but cant find a home in the dash for.... The interior is still a mess but it's coming along.... The dash actually fits quite at home in the ranger....

my index finger fingernail is 6 inches wide, so a 7" touchscreen is just not practical for me. What are my options. I dont think 8" will help much either being that i shake a lot from my parkinson's
