    Boss 7.2" LCD, Need opinions

    Hey everyone...

I want to get a 6.4inch to 7.2 inch lcd pannel for my jeep's computer. I do want to take the cheap way out since i am a poor college student. To begin, i had a 6.4 inch lcd pannel with 250:1 contrast and a brightness of 200 (i think)...to tell you the truth it really wasnt that bad, i pulled it from a Durabrand Mobile DVD center which i mounted under my rear seats and ran ribbon wire up to the monitor.

My jeep is fully darkly tinted (you can see from my cardomain page) so it actually was fairly bright. i plan to be running a screen resolution of 640x480 at the most....As for resolution and clarity.....i dont care about having it perfect....its not like im gunna be using a word processor or anything. The clarity im looking for at minimum is to be able to make out that the 'start' in the windows taskbar is legiable at 800X600...

I found a 7.2" boss LCD monitor for as low as $85 + shipping through a few stores, its here for $107 with cheap shipping.

i wanna stay away from ebay, i saw some shysters and it just doesnt look like a smart thing to do, especially from sellers like mp3store.

    · 7.2" WIDE SCREEN HIGH RESOLUTION MONITOR
    · RESOLUTION: 1024 X 234 PIXELS
    · WIDE ANGLE, OFF-AXIS VISIBILITY
    · WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL
    · ON-SCREEN MENU SYSTEM
    · AUDIO/VIDEO INPUT CONTROLS
    · INCLUDES PEDESTAL STAND AND SLIDE MOUNT STAND

please let me know what you think, thanks

yes im new at this so please dont crusify me, ive seen some of the cruel negative comments by some of the guys with 1000+ posts, its just not right - some people arent experts like some people. and yes i really did to get some info before posting....

    i really dont understand this...
so the monitors resolutiuon is 1024 X 234...if the video cards resolution is set to 800x600, does this mean it will be clear horizontally, but distorted vertically since it needs 600 pixels to display properly, but only has 234?

    Yeh, that's what I'm guessing.

I'm pretty sure that particular screen is STN, not TFT. I thought about getting a few for back-seat headrest monitors (movies and such) but I don't think it would make much of a carputer display.

Starvision advertises some 7" VGA monitors that sell for less than $200 through webzone.us ... Other people here have posted that they're very similar to Lilliput.
