Let me guess, Wayne State, right?? It's been 7 years since I left the Detroit suburbs. Can't say i missed too much.
blimey its a bit minimalist isnt it .... cant hide much there. Your best bet imo is make yourself a center console up to house it in, make it look OEM and your sorted, make a mess and itll attract the eye just as bad as leaving it on display.

Put it under the console there were that cup holder or ash tray is whatever.. and put it on a hinge so you can aim the screen or fold it back to hide it..
Hell you could even use a swivel hinge so you can rotate it.
Holly cow.. I have not seen such a post for very looong time now. I kinda missed them. Thank you ysutarkoOriginally Posted by ysutarko

The pictures of your dash helps in planning a lot. What I typically do for stealth installs with dash configurations like yours is put a screen where your ashtray is. You can flip it down when using it, and flip it up when not using it (obviously).Originally Posted by Punisher
Also, by having the screen lower down there, when u drive around using your system - you won't be advertising to everyone what you have in your car. This is a big problem with screens mounted up higher in the dash - like where your head unit is. If anyone has seen an escalade with a screen where the head unit goes - you know what I"m talking about. Sticks out like a sore thumb. I put a screen in a 96 Impala SS similar to where your ashtray it (that's where it was located on that car too) and the user hasn't had any problems with people finding it.
Sorry I don't have any pictures of the SS. With some modifications, you may be able to fit an in dash screen down where your ashtray is. Have it slide out and up, and it'll look nice. You may considering something removable. When you leave your car unattended, just pop out your screen and bring it with you - something like a lilliput would work great for that.
I understand the need for stealth. I used to go to college in Milwaukee, and had a car stolen there - never found. The system I put in the car after that one, has an in-dash screen. It's the Ford Aspire at www.mobile-effects.com
Here's what a typical in-dash screen looks like.

In the picture gallery you can see some in-dash screen pics, and see how stealthy it looks. I even kept my stock head unit, just in case anyone walking by looked in - it looked like a stock setup. Check out the site if you want some ideas for planning out your system/screen.
There's pictures up there of the car that I had stolen as well, if anyone is interested.
PM me if you have any further questions, and goodluck with setting up your system. Have the fun is finding a way to hide it from others - and the other half is worrying about it getting stolen! lol![]()

You could make it removable like this guy did with his Mercedes (Mercedes-Benz SLK R170. That way you could lock it in the trunk/glovebox or just take it with you.
