custom 2din lcd - from VVTMODULE?

i'm ready to move forward, except for my lcd. I have a 2din opening and want to get the 400 nit panasonic in there... do i buy this:

    http://digitalww.com/VVTModule.htm

and have it mounted into the 2 din space by my installer? or do i need to get one that has a bezel around it? if I get the vvtmodule above, where are the control buttons?

    thanks,
    Wes

The buttons look like they are mounted on the circuit board, vs. being a daughter board of some kind. I think you would have a hard time getting an installer to mount the LCD and the buttons in a useful position.

This looks more like a DIY project.

You could mount the LCD in the Double Din opening behind the existing bezel of your dash. Then wire some momentary switches remotely from the circuit board to your dash.

The circuit board is larger than the screen itself (north and south) but smaller (east and west) in the width. It really depends on your car and how much room you have behind the dash.

AS for the brightness, I would wonder if the 400 rating is before the TS overlay is added. The overlay seems to reduce the brightness by 100 as far as I can tell.

I think they are both the same setup, one just comes assembled, the other does not.

Either way, it shouldn't be a whole heck of a lot of work IF you have the space in your dash.

    Hope I helped....

hmm - does anyone know of an installer in the bay area (or perhaps in LA area) that would handle this kind of install?

the digitalww module is essentially the xenarc/gain screens so for measurements and more pics look in the sticky in the LCD section. New buttons can easily be soldered to the circuit board using wires and the large controller board cna be mounted horizonatally as the ribbon cale is about 6 inches long.

Someone has recently made a very neat LCD holder using plastic etc. i think it is int he fabrication section

Have you thought of going to the SOcal carputer meet in April?

    Pesos,

I purchased that exact model and mounted it in a 2din opening in my 2000 Honda Accord. I made my own bezel and there was just enough room to mount the buttons so that they are accessible just below the screen but I plan on re-doing the whole thing after using it for a while because I have found that I never need access to the buttons and I would prefer to have the screen centered in the 2din opening. Just thought Id throw out my opinion, good luck.

can someone answer this for me who has the screen and got it recently..and got the brighter (400nit) model.

is the module exactly like the one on the site. ie does it have the crappy slim connector or does it have the new beefy xenarc style connector?

also, can some please please please note down the part/model numbers on the back of the LCD modul for me.

    Cheers

    Andy
