Perhaps you could move the HVAC controls down there? Kind of hard to tell with the picture angle.
I love this product (in theory)... Damn expensive for my cheap ars... However, I am thinking about springing for it anyhow - at least I would not have a monitor hanging off of my dash...
Here is my issue... My 93 325i has a slot where I could mount it, however this portion of the console (the cubby under the OBC) is recessed and I am unsure if this monitor will clear it enough to stand straight up for my viewing (of course not while driving)...
I have attached a pic of my interior, you can see the recess in the console - the slot I am talking about is on the very bottom... I am not worried about the shifter, It moves far enough back while in drive to get the monitor out...
Has anyone installed this in a similar situation? If so, how well did it work?
Thanks!

HVAC will not reach (tried it)
There are two Din slots in the upper and two in the lower... The upper sticks out almost 3 inches from the lower.

Maybe replace the radio. The radio to the open slot and then the screen in place of the radio? The screen will be better visible and there would be no problem with the opening of the screen. Offcourse is then the airflow blocked.
