me? i am looking at a Xenarc. but i may well end up with a linITX and would be willing to make it work for the linITX (Chris at linITX if you are reading this - nudge nudge wink wink). My Xenarc controller is fried but the screen works and the Xenarcs do have the best clarity from what i saw but there is more scope to brighten the Lilliputs using what would be 3 CCFLs. I will measure up the Xenarc.

JC, I think we would need to get a different set of tubes made for the Xenarc. Could be nice if we could get the same total length as the lilliputs so they are just as bright. Is there any reflective layers in the lilliput? There is distinct one way mirror type layer in the xenarc.

ohhh i will write a spreadsheet to design the tubes. shouldn't take too long and i need the practice and the mental stimulation of the equations. I find excel easier than CAD!

Damn i used to have a spreadsheet that you put in yout aircraft wing area, aspect ratio and leading edge sweep and it would draw your wings including place all the flaps and give you the thickness ratios, lift curves at different speeds and flap settings etc etc - and give the main coordiantes of features for the structures guys. Was excel perfection!

dont they sell nice, small, hi-res regular ol tube screens out there? that would be real bright.

or how about- instead of a color screen, get an old fashioned line-by-line screen, with the dot matrix- like the old cell phones. im sure they have big ones out there with white/blue colors like the ipods have. or ones like aftermarket HUs have.

well if you can get me the dimensions of what you want i'll see if they will draw up another schematic for the xenarc version.

or I probably can whip something up in autocad

yes the diffusers I have are one way, if I flip them over light only comes out of the sides instead of coming straight out. But I have 2 of them.

awwh im sorry JCD ..... see I said my brain melted reading this thread I got a bit lost who was doing what so I thought id cheer scouse along anyway since we live on the same lump of land .... if he can source something then its good for me too.... shame hes only doing the xenarc tho
