a) it's a 4mB card, I don't think it's even powerful enough to play a DVD
b) if it's a used card it could be failing, thus producing errors when attempting to put it under a heavy load
I was building my carputer around a 5" LCD screen I got (psone LCD)
I started out with a radeon 9200 128mb AGP graphics card ... but soon realized that this card has a flaw and corrupts the screen at the resolution required to drive the LCD.
so, I bought the 4mb matrox mystique, because it was only $10, and it was a bonified verified working card. yes, it fixed my problems.
Now, whenever I try to play a DVD I get errors out the yin-yang. I've tried multiple programs ... windows media player v9, v10 ... zoom player, etc... different DVD codecs ... "DVD Pak" for wmp, NVDVD codecs ...
nothing worked.
I swapped the radeon back in, and it works w/o a hitch.
Whats' going on here? Why can't this card play dvd's? how can i fix it?
thanks for any help/suggestions!
