Need a quick and simple reply about Dual Monitor!

In order to have Dual Monitor-Dual Desktop setup, do I have to buy a MII1000 or does the M1000 do this too. Does the MII support dual desktop from the CRT-TV option???

Or a VERY low profile PCI VGA Card?

The thing is I made a 1din custom case which has everything from HDD to SlimDVD etc inside. Fits the 1din of my car perfect. But I gave up on the Dual monitor support of the M1000 with TVOUT....I think that DUAL monitor/Desktop support is only for CRT+LVDS. Since I dont have enough money to buy a LVDS Monitor, I have to put a second PCI VGA card. Do you ppl know of any very low profile one? Or are there USB 2.0 VGA CARDS?

    I am very desprate...

Or is the MII will going to solve my problem?

there are some USB2 VGA cards (i mentioned one somehwere) so for that as I am just off out so can't look(compgeeks sells it i think).

Other than that you can get low profile VGA cards that are the same size as half width network cards (not the tiny PCI or the full width PCI cards).

    newegg had some.

I doubt you will get a dual output slim PCI card but you may be able to run 1 PCI in parralel with your onboard AGP epia grpahics.

    just got back....

if you add asecond PCI grpahics card get somehting modern and definitely not a cheap S3 based one as they don't like being the second card in a system (you have to set up pci as primary which can cause other problems with some drivers - especailly ATI - for info).

You can get some cheap nVidia slimline PCI cars for about $30-40 I think.

You know that you can get a ribbon cable riser card for the PCI slot and lay the graphics card on it's side, don't you?

There is no room for a a riser card since they usually have small ribbons, even if I changed the ribbons I would need a VERY small PCI that could fit in the desing since the case is 17,1 cm x 17,1 cm x 5,3 cm. I already have a 2.5 HDD and a Slimline DVD inside the case! There is room for a 6.1 cm wide item with no more than 6-8 cm length. All in all I supposed that the USB2 to SVGA adapter might be the easyiest answer. If I come across a 6x6cm PCI VGA card I will let you know, however I somewhat doubt it!

WOW, this USB 2.0 to VGA adapter is impossible to find in Europe! Like it never existed. Found one in the UK but they dont have it in stock. Germany has only heard of it! No online shop that sells them. Am I the only one that thinks this is a good product? Well, will keep on searching....

Probably, they are extremely poor performers.

Given the limited bandwidth of USB 2.0 compared to even a PCI slot, you can't get better then 640x480 @ 32 bit resolutions on them. This might not be bad for some applications since were dealing with small 7" screens in a car, but I'd be suprised if you could get any decent visualizations on it also you'll probably be hogging all your USB bandwidth so it might give your other devices trouble, particularly other high bandwidth ones like a USB DVD.

Basically I need the Monitor for Navigation using MM. Or maybe watch TV etc! Nothing much! They say you get 1024x768 at 16bit which is ok even for DVD playing. 800x600 at 32bit which is more tha enough! I dont use any other USB device, maybe a TV Tuner! Nevertheless, this is my only option so I am going to go for it and let you guys know! If I can find one (Ebay Worldwide has 0 matches )
