I don't know if anyone has an answer for this question yet but i would like the same information. I didn't burn up anything but I would like to connect this touchscreen to another computer. Also the touchscreen will not calibrate correctly and I would also like to know if I can buy another overlay and about how much would one be.

The Tough Touch panels are capacitive, and made by Microtouch (3M).
This is older technology, and the data sheets for the controller and touch panel are difficult/impossible to locate.
These panels were commenly used in the older 12.1" Planar monitors.
The controllers are serial, and you make setting changes to the bios not to software.
They are a real pita to calibrate, and keep calibrated.
