Dropped Xenarc :( TS shattered and white screen. Any repair help/ideas?

So my car was totalled a couple months back. I threw all my carpc parts into a box in the garage, and I finally decided to put my Xenarc 700TSV (older model, about 2yrs old) to use. While bringing it into the house, I accidentally dropped it flat onto the concrete floor of the garage .

The touchscreen shattered, and when I hooked it up, I got a whitescreen. I opened up the case to see if there was anything I could do. The PC boards look fine (nothing cracked or shorted). And I was able to remove the touchscreen since it is not attached to the lcd panel. But after hooking everything back up, I still got a whitescreen.

I searched the forums regarding the whitescreen issue, and found it may be the ribbon cable or connector which connects the screen to its controller. After reinserting the cable and applying some pressure to the connector, I was able to get some response on the screen: gray boxes when I press the menu button or when I hook up my computer to the VGA connector, but they were not in color nor readable. I kept playing with the cable, and eventually I bent a few pins. Now it shows rainbow colored lines on the screen if I hook it up.

At this point, I'm still not sure whats wrong with it and if its repairable. I would like to get at least the lcd working again, even if I lose the touchscreen capability. Since I've bent a few pins on the ribbon cable, I would probably at least a new cable. But I'm not sure if thats all I would need, and it may not be worth buying and trying other parts.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I should check or try to get it working again? Also where can I buy parts? I assume Xenarc may sell it, but anyone else?

I may just give up and sell it for parts on ebay.

    Thanks
    TJ

    Repaired.

I talked to Xenarc Tech Support, and they sent me a new ribbon cable. Unfortunately, that didn't do the trick. But while playing with the cable, I found a loose connector on the LCD panel itself.

On the back of the LCD panel (where the PC circuits are) and under the plastic, there was another smaller ribbon cable. The connector for this cable was loose (probably popped out during the fall). I just snapped it back in, and now the screen works again!

I still need a touchscreen panel, which I can order from Xenarc when I need it.
