There are no diffusers on it I don't think.

that is without the diffusers or the lcd glass

ok here are the first test images

this is the stock LCD with a touchscreen on top




this is with the upgraded ccfl's and the stock diffusers and a touchscreen on top. it's not washed out anything like the pic makes it seem. my camera is a POS




and I still havent done any adjustments, I just threw the tubes in and powered it on

I think hes just filtered the Floridian sun to behind the backlight via a set of prisms from the window ;-)

that was jsut the tubes!!!! nothing else! the brighness increase is approximately double WITH THE touchscreen. The TS is a % loss so on a 400 nit screen you lose 100nit and an 800nit screen you lsoe 200nit. so we must be about 1000nit.

wow! I have been following this thread for awhile, great work. I'd be in for an 8" design one if you guys get that far
