Yeah, I was just kidding about the last three. I would be interested in comparing the amp draw between the two setups, I'm sure they will post that after more testing.

it is drawing around 800ma at 12v

Maybe not autodimming, but a 50% dimming button for sure!!!

there will be more than one option, you could even just hook a pot up to it and control the brightness with a knob
