There are a number of heat resistant, and low cost, gels that are used in video and film production that provide a large variety of diffusion. Anybody in a city like Miami, LA, NYC, Chicago etc will find these readily available at equipment rental houses and film expendable supply stores. Of course, they can be purchased online as well

Here is a manufacturer's page that lists details about their diffusion. They refer to them as "filters", but these are thin, flexible, plastic sheets that are placed in very close proximity to 1000 and 2000watt tungsten lights.

THREE TIMES now I've typed really long replies and THREE TIMES IE has locked up on me I finally rebooted and now I'm trying again....

So, the summary was: try "216" or "250", they'll probably work best for you.

Also, free swatchbooks can be had at any film expendable supply house. They'll have samples of all the kinds of diffusion and you could test them before buying any. B&H in NYC should have them as well.

Feel free to PM me if you've got any questions about these gels, where to get them etc.

I have been having the same problem from my Home computers since they did the "UPDATE" to the site about 2 weeks ago. If I try from work, it generally works, but from Home, no matter what, it crashes IE. Big Pain in da butt. Do a search on my name for the Thread. Perhaps others hre also having an issue, and we can determine what it is.
