    In Dash Xenarc Install Question

Well guys I must admit... POWDER has inspired me. Now that I see how the whole mounting a Xenarc in a GM Double DIN can be, I'm goin to give it a go. Here's the thing, I like POWDER's idea but not really his design, so I'm going to change it. I making mine totally buttonless so here's what I need to know from some one whom has disassembled a Xenarc before: with the length of all the cable you have to connect, how far away from the LCD panel can the VGA/Button controller board be mounted??

Perhaps 6". The pic below is of a Xenarc 8" with the back off. The controller card completely disconnects from the LCD panel and can be relocated.
