I put mine in VGA mode and pressed 588998 on my remote. I get no visual prompts at all. I've even tried pressing 588998 then menu, and I see nothing that says factory mode. This sux
Can someone take a pic of the "Factory menu prompt"?

When you guys press the numbers on your remote, do you get anything visual onscreen such as numbers?

I know the remote works, I can power it off and change inputs.

How fast are you guys pressing in the numbers? I've tried going fast, and even holding the numbers down for a second just to see, and still nothing.

Don't give up. Follow this link, read the post by "digitalww" post # 29. That is what I did. (BTW, factory setting appears as a header in the menu)

Auto Power On 619 Lilliput - Programing Guide

EDIT: It definitely works! Just went out and tried it again. These are the steps I took:

1- Power the PC and the lilliput
2- Enter the code 588998 – Do NOT use your finger nails! Use the tip of your fingers to make sure you push the buttons down all the way. Do it slowly, about one digit every two seconds.
3- A little window will appear on the bottom half of the screen with “___ ____”. The header will say “factory setting”. I was so excited when I saw this! On the “footer” of this window you will see the existing code.
4- Enter the codes that you want (see first post in this thread), making sure they are registered as you enter them.
5- Once done, enter any number to clear the window.

If you coded it to have audio in VGA mode, then do the following step:

6- Push on the Menu button. When Menu window opens you will see the header “factory setting”.
    7- Navigate to Misc. setting
8- Set Volume mute to “off”
9- Press on Menu button to register this setting. If you don’t the mute will be turned back on automatically.
10- Navigate to exit and exit the menu

When you cut the power to monitor (turning it off will not do it) it will go back to regular menu.

I have a very old Lilliput with 9 pin din. It it worked for me, it will work for anyone. Just be patient. If it does not work the first time, cut the power to reset it, and try again. Also make sure you push the buttons all the way.

    Try this:

    1) Completely disconnect the 12V power cord from your lilliput
    2) Reconnect power and turn the lilli on by pressing the power button
    3) Now, while in VGA-mode, enter the numbers (588998) directly, i.e. without first pressing any other keys or activating any menus or whatever.

On my lilliput (10-pin mini DIN connector), the numbers can be entered at normal speed. No need to type slowly.

    Hope this helps!

It is important to completely disconnect the power after each unsuccessful try. Otherwise it will not reset.

I have been lurking for some time and appreciate all th answers I have found so far. Thank You!

I just tried this with a 7" 10pin model 61980891b0140, I can enter the code and it seems to take but I dont think the screen auto turns off. If I turn the PC off the screen just says no vga input then goes blank but the green light is still on.

Not sure if this means anything but, while the PC is off and the monitors light is green I can hit the menu button and the light goes to red for off. When I power the pc it turns green and displays fine.

Is this normal or should the Light turn red when the pc is shutdown? I would assume the auto on/off is not working.

    Thanks for anyhelp!
    Todd

The best way to turn off the monitor is by cutting its power. Forget about the auto standby mode, cause it can still drain your battery. Many of us use the PC's 12V rail to power their screens.

As for the red/green light, once you have made changes to the factory settings, disconnect and reconnect the power to properly "activate" the new settings.

    Thanks for the quick response!

I did the disconnect/reconnect to activate thing but the monitor still stays on when you shut down. (green light still on) unless this is how it is suppose to operate. I have gone back into the factory mode and the code I put in does show at the bottom.

    Thanks, Todd
