Laptop LCD Screen Pin outs ?

Hello,

does anyone know of a good site that one can search to get a listing of the pin outs on specific LCD screens? I have a 13"LCD screen that was pulled from a working Sony VAIO laptop and I would like to understand if there is a standard adapter board that can be used to convert it for use with a desktop video display adapter. This would allow it for use with the carputer I am developing. Or other applications.

Or if there is just a page with the scematic or pin put representations that would be a start as well.

The model laptop the 13" screen was pulled from is a Sony VAIO PCG-F630 if that helps.

The purpose of a forum is to share information and exchange ideas. Have you lost sight of that and feel that you are the forum ghestapo that must just repost the same

dribble endlessly?

Hey, I am a newb to this board, but not to LCDs. Your question is probably one of the most common LCD questions out there, and one that I asked for a LONG time. A priceless source of knowledge are the LCD forums at http://eio.com/lcdintro.htm . Just check out any of the archives, and use "Find On Page" to see if you can come up with anything. However, more than likely, they are going to tell you the same thing over and over again. You need a controller card. There is no simple, or cheap way, to use a laptop LCD as a normal PC/video component display. There just isn't. The best place to find a controller card is at www.earthlcd.com, but even then, you need to know some specs about your display other than what laptop you ripped it from. I think that ultimately you will learn it is easier to purchase a LCD monitor [Since, if you're like me, you want a large one.] and take it from it's case for your use. There are many reasons why you can't just just use some Radioshack breadboard and solder yourself an adapter. [And you can't use the controller out of the laptop in most cases either.] I hope this was semi-helpful. I know it isn't the answer you wanted to hear, but it's pretty accurate I hope.

Yes, you can use a laptop LCD as a display, however it requires complicated and expensive [~$200 or more.] controller cards.

use the lcd as a cup coaster man ur gonna spend too much money tryin to make it work vga or even composite i had 3 of em and i just pulled one out every time i got mad and just socked it

The information is already here, if you'd care to look. That's the point of the drivel.

Nobody dribbled on you, but even if they did it could easily be cleaned up with a towel.
