Got a new Xenarc 7TSV today!Works great stock at the 800x600. I would like to see it at exact pixel mapping 1:1. So I go download powerstrip and select 800x480 and it auto selects 600x480 for some reason.... and it won't go to 800x480.
I have used powerstrip before actually currently using it while I type this on my HD projector 120"to get 720p 1280x720
maybe someone has a preset of there powerstrip settings. My video card should work with it. Its a the original AIW Radeon first Radeon series of AIW.
let me know
thanks

I have been trying to get powerstrip configured with these numbers, but it's like a puzzle. You change in one place and it modifies in another!
In particular, I cannot modify the "Vertical Geometry: Active: 480" value. grrr!!!
Im running an ATI 9800 Pro on my bench test setup. Any ideas? Does anyone have one of those powerstrip configuration commands that I can simply 'Paste' in powerstrip?
Thanks!

i am also having powerstrip woes.
I just drug my 17" monitor out to the car with a long extension cord so that i can try the 1-1 mapping on a lilliput using the onboard video of the m10k. It does indeed output 800x480 however the lilliput won't recognize it. Others have had good luck when using a refresh rate other than 60hz. I would like to try it powerstip but have been usuccessfull.
Whenever i change the resolution within powerstip and try to access the advanced timing window it always shows me the advanced timing for 800x600.
What a pain in the ars

Antimatter:
I figured it out... here's what you need to do:
Go to Advance timing options, then 'Custom resolutions' button. If the 'predefined' list does not show 480x800 (it probably won't) then click on 'User defined'. It probably is not there either.
In this case, you need to add the resolution... so now copy this line to your clipboard:
"800x480" 38.550 800 840 920 1032 480 541 544 622 -hsync -vsync
Now go to powerstrip and click the little icon 'paste timings from clipboard'. (bottom right, middle icon).
Now click 'Add new resolution' and click Close.
Now hit Cancel on the next screen, so it takes you back to the MAIN screen of powerstrip.
So now, you will move the slider at the top until it recahes the custom resolution you just added (480x800). Now hit 'Advance Timing Options', and then click the 'Selected' button.
The computer should at this point switch you to 800x480, and present you with the advanced timing options. (you're not there yet though... keep reading). The H and V resolutions in the dialog will be 480x800 now, but the other values will be off. You will need to tweak the values according to this page:
http://www.xenarc.com/images/PowerStrip.jpg
Make sure you deselect the checkbox for 'real-time adjustment' BEFORE making any of the tweaks. It takes a while to get them right because values shift a lot while you're at it, but it is do-able.
Hope this helps. It worked for me, but then again, not all vid cards are created equal.

mbkowns, have you gotten the 800X480 resolution working for the xenarc? I'm also using the AIW Radeon with PowerStrip and can't get that resolution working on the xenarc. I've tried both settings listed on the page you linked but the monitor will only lock onto 800X600 with my desktop "letter-boxed" in the middle of the display.
excellent. Thanks for the pointers. i wasn't able to get my card on my laptop working but hopefully my via board in my car will since it now supports 800x480 with the drivers i just need to tweak the refresh rate (hopefull)Originally Posted by justintime

that seemed straightfoward enough until i got out to the car to give it a try. The custom resolution button was not available for the via onboard card which i now seem to vaguely remember reading about that before.
The thing with my situation is that i now have 800x480 available on with the driver/bios combination but it is only available in 60hz refresh rate which the lilliput wont lock onto. Others have reported sucess with higher refresh rates. I am eager to try other refresh rates but cant figure how to. I drug my 17" monitor out to the car but powerstrip started acting up and i couldn't get it to access the custom timings.
This time around i was able to get access to the advanced timings... i guess i need to drag my 17" monitor out to the car again
arggg
