    Lilliput -->smoke -->waves in picture???

    So i was testing my fabrication on the radio bezel with the screen in and ocnce i was satified with the fit i started to remove it. All of the sudden a stream of smoke came out from behind the radio bezel.

    I was like WTH. So i promptly unplugged the opus.

    After i brought it inside and verified that it did indeed still power up and display a picture i noticed that there was wavey distortion in the picture.

    So i took it apart and inspected. I couldn't find any burnmarks or anything. Then i went to plug back in the speaker and i noticed that there was a burn mark on female connecter that attaches to the leads.

    After i powered it up again (this time with the speaker removed) the picture was crystle clear.

    Don't know if this has happened to anyone else but it sure scared the scrap outta me

    I don't give a crap about the speaker (who uses them anyways) and i am stoked that it still works. I plan on replacing the speaker with a fan on the backside as soon as the backlight upgrade gets worked out.

    You're lucky that's all it did. Maybe the speaker wires shorted together. I found out what happens if you touch just one side of the CCFL inverter output for 1 second. It hurts a bit and smells like burning flesh.
