Question Is it room for another headunit? Golf IV

I wonder if it is room for another headunit right over the original headunit and under the cup-holder. If i remove the little department. Reason i am asking is because I have just baught myself a TM702L and i wonder if i can put this in there so i dont have to remove the original headunit.

    What are you asking actually?

If that compartment is meant to be used for a 2nd head-unit?

Who cares? It certainly wasn't meant for a fold-out screen, but that doesn't mean you can't use it just for that!

It's the ideal place to put your screen, just check if it's deep enough... like many things in life you'll have to investigate that by going in!

I just thought that maybe someone has made this mod before
I have tried to investigate a bit I took some measures and found out that the size was almost the same, but the question is: is this space ment to be used for it? If it is it would probably ease my work alot!

    Dude, i'm just conversationing

a radio or pullout screen will fit in that slot.. I also have a gti so i am positive it will fit, I have completly taken everything out of my car so if you have any questions about the car i can help. I know the pullout screens are deeper then normal din slots. so im not sure of the depth but if you give me depth of the screen i can measure inside the dash for you cause i am gettin ready to redo my dash install. if you want you can check out my install thread.

Now in that thread you are going to see some pics of the dash ripped apart so that should give you an idea of what is going on behind the front bezel. But in yours will look a little different because i did some extreme modifactions to the front bezel mounting brackets.

As i said any help you need i would love to help another vw owner out. And on a side not when it comes time to run power from the battery you are in luck because there is already a 8 gauge power wire running into the cabin of the car that is unused. Check the pic you will see what im talkin about.

In the picture I posted in my above post you can see (30a i think) does not have a relay in its slot. That is a 8 gauge wire coming straight off the battery.

I was also wondering why you dont just configure your computer in the house.
