41 pin? what for?
Hi all, I'm trying to get hold of two or three Hirose 41-pin connectors for LCD panels, the pre-wired type to make soldering life easier.
So far the best I've been offered is "buy 50, we'll work out a price" from one dealer. The others don't even bother to respond.
The usual places like Digikey and Farnell don't do the wired versions.
Anyone know a source in, or that will post to, the UK?
Cheers,
FoxyRick.
I didn't give enough info did I... d'oh.
I need the DF9M-41S type connector, wired with discrete wires.
Like this, but I only need a connector on one end:

I want one for an LG LP121S1 800x600 panel, and a couple of spares for other (prospective) panels.

urgh that looks evil. Have you tied LG themselves?
or mouser.com
Yeah, it's a PITA. They are quite standard on dozens of surplus panels on eBay from several manufacturers, especially Sharp. The LP121 is a clone of a Sharp one, I think. They are not really used so much on modern displays - they are either LVDS or need more pins than this type can provide.
Some lower res (640x480, 12 to 18 bit colour) panels use a 31-pin version - I have a few of those courtesy of eBay, but the 41 pin ones seem harder to come by.
I checked mouser, I hadn't thought of them. No luck though. I doubt there's much mileage in contacting LG, like I say these are older panels and the connector is not specific to them. I keep trying the surplus and spare parts outlets, but have only found a few and they were flat-flex cables, not much use. Hirose UK themselves can't be bothered to answer my emails.
If I can find a source, there's lots of nice panels on eBay to play with!
Cheers,
FoxyRick.
