    Question Motorized Angles in G35

So i am setting up a mac mini in my G35 and i want to put a motorized touchscreen in where the Nav system usually goes. Of course if i install it there the Din unit is pointing up at about a 70 degree angle. Out of the different motorized LCD's are there any where you can choose a specific angle and it will always open up to that? i need the angle to be maybe like 15 or 20 degrees higher than when the screen comes out parallel to the whole unit.

I am looking at this because the G35 housing kits are overpriced, and they are not motorized. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I know I work here so my opinion is a bit biased but that g35 housing is a really nice product. If I had a g35 I would get the housing. It has a much cleaner factory look than anything else you could do without some crazy modifications.

I got one, and I have to agree(I don't work here ). It provides the best bang for the buck, and it only gets better when you factor in the time spent on it vs your own solution.
Not being motorized really isn't that big of deal either. It's well within reach and only takes two seconds to pull out.
Slight minus on the cool factor, but when it comes down to it, it doesn't really matter.
Motorized is just something else that can break.

I'm probably also a little biased too and yes the housing is expensive compared to a just buying a screen, but I wouldn't call it overpriced. The margins for it are pretty much the same to that of the motorized housings, your just paying more for a lot of custom materials which I have to pay alot to get machined.

There are 7 custom machined pieces half of which need to be machined on a 3D lathe which is a relatively expensive process. Also the fact that these are relatively low number production runs adds alot to my costs. In addition to that there are a large number of premade parts that are needed to complete the assembly and make for an easy bolt-on installation.
In total, each screen housing is made from around 60 individual parts:
4 x Machine Screws for frame assembly
    2 x Frame Spacers
    1 x Aluminum Frame Front
    1 x Aluminum Frame Back
1 x Slotted Plexiglass Left Side
1 x Slotted Plexiglass Right Side
1 x Powder Coated Aluminum Floor
1 x Powder Coated Aluminum Back
    8 x #2 Sheet Metal Screws
    3 x 1” Double Sided Tape Strips
    2 x 1” Machine Screws
    4 x Nuts
    2 x Aluminum spacers
    1 x Wooden spacer
    1 x Magnet Latch
1 x Bolt for Magnet Latch
    1 x 3ft Infrared Extention Cable
4 x Red Insulated Butt Connectors
1 x Power Coated Steel Magnet Catch
2 x Large Installation Bolts and Nuts
2 x Larger (Dark Brown) Nuts for the installation bolts to be used as spacers.
2 x Small Installation Bolts and Nuts.
2 x Nuts for the small installation bolts to be used as spacers.

    ya think?

Haha, all kidding aside, GOC's kit is very nice for the money. I would have done it too if it weren't for a few things.

    1) I already bought my own screen and other various tools
    2) I really like fabbing my own stuff. I may suck it at, but I still love doing it.

at g35driver.com (damn I haven't been there in months!) GOC was always nice and very helpful with carputer related stuff. And from what I've seen from other people's opinions, they absolutely love the kit he put out.

In summary, if you don't want to fab your own, buy his kit.

Now, to answer your question, I know the one sold at Digital WW as the DWW-700M, and at MP3Car.com Store ( I can't find the model number) will automatically return to the location is was last at. HOWEVER, it still extends out straight, and then the screen flips to the angle previously at. Just keep that in mind.

I also think all of the motorized screens will return to the previous location, although I only have experience with the 700M from Digital WW.

I saw GOC's screen and it was awesome. Two seconds, folds out, nothing to break. If I had a G35, I'd have one.
