No idea...i keep my remote in my cupholder......what a PITA. It's so quirky, I haven't ever been able to reproduce the issue 100%- almost random.
I'm bringing this thread back up because I have been having the same problem.
BUT! I actually went back to Xenarc (they are local), and they switched out the board. Unfortunately, the results are the same. What gives? I was thinking the problem lied with the fact that my Xenarc was wired directly to a 12V source, but now I have it wired to my Opus 120W PS, and the same thing keeps happening! It seems like it reverts back every other time. What gives?

Since they're local, go ask them what gives...it would be nice to hear from them! Mine does this and I just learned to live with it but if there was a fix, I'd be on it in a minute.
Yeah I went to them once and they replaced it. When the guy there showed me, it wasn't reverting back. Unfortunately, I can't keep going back since my installer removed it from the casing and it is attached to my dash. So I don't want to keep asking my installer to waste his time removing/reinstalling my dash/touchscreen since this is a Xenarc issue. Come to think of it, Xenarc was supposed to call me back, but never did? I might have to go down there again one day![]()

I'm having this problem as well, but if I remember right it only starting doing this after I changed to a M2-ATX and changed the jumper to cut out after 45 minutes instead of 2 hours. Maybe I will go into it again and change the jumper back to see if that does anything. Dunno why it would, but maybe it will. Also, with my problem it seems that when I reset the brightness up it will stay that way after one "shutdown and startup" sequence, but on the second one it reverts back to 33. Go figure...

my (now broken) 809GL does this, its powered off the m2atx but it doesnt bother me, because I can press a button to toggle through different levels of brightness, and this one just happens to be the one most commonly used, during the day I crank it back up
Is there a way to crack this baby open and manually program it to a certain brightness/contrast? It seems that would be the only way to fix this issue to me.

A bit late to the thread, but I thought I'd offer that my 700TSV was doing exactly as people were complaining about above (forgetting brightness/contrast etc). By accident I performed the following combo that seems to have fixed the issue: let it auto-on with the PC, use the remote to call up the menu and set the values desired, use the remote to power off the monitor (PC still running), use the remote to power monitor back up. Now use system as normal. I have no idea why this sequence worked, but it does...YMMV.
Thanks, I will give this a try tonight. BTW, how often did you have this issue? Mine happens like every other time, or one out of every three times. After your "fix" have you had this issue come up again?
Also, to get this straight, you do the following:
1. Insert key and turn on car --> this causes the PSU the switch on the car PC and also the monitor
2. After the computer/monitor are up and running, use your remote to set the brightness/contrast to the desired settings
3. Without doing anything else, turn off the monitor by using the Power button on the remote
4. Turn the monitor back on with the remote
5. Issue resolved?
