I already have an LCD 7" popout screen installed in my dash, it's not amazing but it would do the job. I'm not looking into upgrading into a, say Lilliput, as of right now, because I don't have the funds, I'm using an old laptop just for some basic functions. So basically, all I have is standard VGA out on the laptop and I need to go to RCA video input. I've seen some of these little connectors on eBay for like $5 that claim to do the job, has anyone tried these? If they don't work, what's my next best option? Thanks.

Well I hooked up a VGA monitor through the output on the back of the laptop and it works fine, I can choose between either display or both at the same time. My friend happened to have one of those pieces with a VGA connector on one side (to the laptop) and RCA output on the other side (to the tv), however we could not get it to work. Any suggestions?

I'll check into a scan converter, but what about that little VGA->RCA cable? I'm having trouble with it, do these things not even work at all?
