    Question Sharp LQ6NC02 Hookup

    hey all,
i have 2 of these screens and i am wanting to get started on my projects. so what i want to know is where can i get some info, plans, products, whatever to get these screens up and running. i know that liquid image used to sell entire power and video interface boards for these screens, but the last time i checked on them, they dont seem to be doing that anymore. so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try doing a search on Google. Here's some of the links you'll come up with: hooking up to VGA and this one.

    Thumbs up

thanks for the help so far, is there anyone out there who has used these screens, that still knows where to get the pcb's and other whatnot to hook it all up? i found the ribbon cable kits that are the same as the ones that eio used to offer. how difficult are these screens to hook up. i know they were easy when everyone on the net was selling pre-populated pcb's, but now that you cant get these screens anywhere it seems that all the resources have dissapeared!!

    keep them ideas a-commin'

If you look at the second link I posted above, they are selling the required PCB on this site. They also have a list of parts required along with Digikey part #s...

These solutions are for analog screens only.

I have a question, how do you tell apart the analog from the digital versions ??

alright, i sent an email to the guy in the second link on mtmsol's intial response. hopefully he still has some of the boards left. if not, the other option is to beg for him to send me a copy of the image that he used to get his pcb's made. geez, what would suck is if that dude doesn't have that email anymore, i mean, that is an old page.

    keeping the hope alive...

    Unhappy

well i havent gotten anything back from the circuit board guy yet. i dont think he is using that email anymore. the webpage has been up like that for quite a while. anyway, is there anyone out there in mp3car.com-land that has used this lcd, and would be willing to share their method of getting it hooked up. i mean im sure that i could get something rigged up to run it, but im not that great at circuit design. building them is no problem, but designing is where i lose it. so hopefully someone can come to my rescue

As to power the backlight your will need a backlight inverter which i ordered from Jameco (im in Aus and i still recieved it within a week!

    Talking

    alright everyone...time for an update

i finally got in touch with the dude in mtmsol's second link. and he sent me 2 boards to get my screens up and running. currently i have the interface boards and the backlight inverters so im all set to start gathering the components to populate the board.

over the weekend i got my hands on 2 sharp 4" screens (the same as the ones at earthlcd) for 30 bucks each. and i also snagged a 10.4 in lcd with touchscreen for only $35. and yes, it works too! all i need is the controller. so im not sure what im going to do with these. maybe i'll work them in on the second version of the player (when i get a new car in a year or two)

thanks for all the help so far. i will definately be poking and prodding for more information as my work pregresses.
