Video playback on multiple screens

My current install is coming on nicely. It involved a full pimp-my-ride strip of my car. 4 gauge common ground, extra soundproofing, OEM style wiring loom with centralised fusing, extra insulation etc etc. I will probably do a nice write up when I am done.

Anyway, some questions:
I am converting a my old full multi-media PS2, DVD, TV and Video install into a PC based one.

I have 3 composite monitors and 1 VGA touch screen. 1 in sun visor, 2 in headrests, 1 VGA in centre console.

I use the standard VGA and composite on a VIA 1 GHz board.

So, all works, not quite a resolution I would like, but composite screens are a real pain in the arse, will replace all the other screens one day.

My main problem is running video, I have a choice with the VIA board, either composite or VGA can run video (say from WM Player) There is an option in the driver menu that switches the two (I forget what they call it). The opposite screen type to which is selected simply does not display picture. However, WM Player visualisations work.

I know that probably something to do with the refresh rates, interlaced screens, whatever the case. My main PC's PCI-E card allows you to change all number of settings and I can play video on both screens with setting adjustments.

Anyone else had this problem and or found a solution?

check in the SETTINGS tab that Windows is not extended. Then play around withthe advanced settings found within the SETTINGs tab to have both rca and VGa display a cloned picture.

I have all the screens displaying Windows, its just when I play video's. I can't find any other options and I have fiddled with everything. Anything else?

Look for an option called "overlay adjustments" (ATI video cards) and there's an option called "cloning" which allows all screens to have video playback.

It's your video card. There's nothing more to it. Many video cards can only output video to Composite output, or VGA output. Not both. It's part of how the overlay system works.

What you're seeing is the overlay output on one port, and the black background on another. You either need a VGA to TV adapter, or you need to find a graphics adapter that allows for two overlays (video and VGA)

There're no other tricks you can do with your current stuff.

I have a ATI card that does composite,S video and VGA out.....you can only select one of the three for outputting to your monitor(s) , unless one of their higher end cards (mine is a Radeon 9250) supports this i would have to say you cant drive them all (or even 2) at the same time

Does your ATI do SVid and Composite at the same time? Usually it's one or the other. The SVid is on the card, and then an adapter to put out Composite.

Some of the newer cards are DVI/VGA/Svideo-Composite outputs. Usually you can do DVI + either Video or VGA out.

Thanks, I found some info on another website all about how it works last night. Decided to use an old PCI card i have with twin output and composite. So I can include twin screens at a later date.
