Not sure what happened there. Doubted that you ruined the whole monitor. If it's only the adapter that got busted, you could always rewired the whole thing by using different adapter. Most likely, though, this would void the warranty on the monitor.
Uh oh. So, I just went to go test fit everything up and was going to reconnect the cable in my 7" Lilliput. I pulled out a ribbon cable from the left side of the moniter, mounted horrizontally, attached to the LCD and the back half. I removed the part on the back half, and now, can't get it to stay back in.
Did I just ruin a $300 screen?

I don't know how the thing even stayed in in the first place. There isn't any sort of tab there clamp it down. It took a very gentle tug to get out, and then I thought I was good to go. Now it will go in though, but it only takes up 1/2 the space in there.
please post a picture there are words that you are saying that sound conflicting. I have two of my lilliput screens that have broken tabs. They are still good. I just epoxied the cable in place
I just did that on one last night

Well, now that I'm not freaking out about it as much, I realized that the cable only goes from the bottom buttons to the board on the back.
For some reason though, bench testing went fine when it came to the TS, but now the TS won't work, I can't get my computer to recognize it. Here we go...
