Is there anyway to lubricate the motor, or gears? I haven't even tested mine out yet.

Possibly though not without opening it up, which is something I'm not going to even consider until I hear back from ex-audio. I'm going to try lilliput as well - I haven't contacted them until now as they still haven't replied to my last question. Someone said they had successfully contacted lilliput, what email address was that on? I tried sales and european sales as I couldn't see a dedicated customer services address.

My monitor worked for five or six days so it could be hit and miss throughout the batch or it could be all of them, who knows. I'd be interested to know how many work and how many don't so we can build a better case for refunds or repairs by quoting numbers that are faulty.

Just to get this absolutely clear then, are you saying that the Lilliput has an audio amp built in, that will play audio from the built-in radio and TV tuner, or an external AV source called "Video 1" but will not allow audio from a PC to be amplified internally even though the PC will be connected via the VGA adaptor (I know the VGA adaptor does not carry audio)?

I really would have expected a VGA monitor with a built-in audio amp to have a set of Aux inputs to amplify the audio from the PC!

I guess an FM modulator could be used as long as the Lilli doesn't insist on switching off the VGA input when the radio is on! Anybody tried this yet?

It seems to me like a bit of an oversight if this is the case!

    To clarify:
The unit has a built in amp stated as 45watts.
There is left and right audio inputs connected to the vga input.
There is a seperate video1 input which has it's own audio inputs.
I had already installed the kenwood as I didn't know whether I was getting a perminent mount or flip out screen. I also didn't know whether the lilliput could take audio inputs, the ebay item says there is a video input but I thought that was for the reversing camera.

Although about the suggestion of fm modulator, I know it's not relevent in this case as there are audio ins but you cannot have the screen open in radio mode, it automatically closes when 'radio' is selected.

Hopefully this picture will clarify, on the left is the vga cable this ends in a s-video input, this connects to a s-video to mini d-sub cable which goes into the back of the head unit, the audio ins are attached to this cable. On the right are the right are the standard stereo cables, speakers, power, acc etc
The video input is perminently attached to the rear of the head unit.

I'll enlarge this picture when I get home, I'm at work now.

Thanks Cravex7, that makes things a lot clearer.

Seems like this has the potential to be the ideal product if Lilliput can fix these motor issues.

I think I will wait a bit longer before getting one, until there is a bit more feedback on here about the problems/fixes.

    Thanks again.

"Seems like this has the potential to be the ideal product if Lilliput can fix these motor issues." - That's what's so annoying!

It was suggested that one of the cables may be caught in the motor so I took the unit indoors, gently shook it and teased the screen and it moved! I extended the whole way out and all the way back in, the motor was moving as I could hear it whirring. Connected it up turned it on and... Nothing, the motor won't move at all. The radio comes on as the radio requires the screen to be closed (no idea why) but nothing else works. The motor now moves so perhaps something was stuck in the mechanism before but the motor appears to be shot now anyway.

I don't know what you could use as an antenna, all the incar aerials I've seen have a headphone style connector on the end.

You should be able to buy an adapter for most Arial configurations.

So I powered it on today, and tried it out. For some reason, I'm getting NO VGA SIGNAL. Any ideas? I have my PC set to 800x600 @ 60hz.
