    Post LCD Parallel Port Problem

I've got a bit of a problem... I am using old bits to create a car mp3 player - cyrix pr300, 128mb ram, socket 7 mboard with onboard video, sound and io. However, the parallel port that it comes with is shockingly bad - will not properly work with the lcd unless spp is selected - what I would like to know is can I buy an additional parallel port (on a pci card) and use this with lcdprint for some playlist software im writing and lcdisp winamp plugin. Cheers - specs to follow when i've built the pc!

Otherwise, anyone know how to get the display working on my motherboard as is - the sis 5598 chipset seems to be pretty shocking though. Also, anyone know of a good supplier in the uk who can sell me a new parallel port? Cheers.

yeah i got a isa parrallel port card linked to my charcter lcd solded onto the card, working fine

as long as u change the one on ya m/b to 278

so u can use the card for 378 for the software, or was it the other way round ?

either way yes u can get isa or pci card with 1 or 2 extra prts ifu need

Stunning - cheers for the info. I will post more when the controller arrives. I have opted for a pci model - isa is kinda non existant on the board I have. Or at least I kinda covered them with a hdd in my initial case design!
