it would be alot harder and expensive to put a touch overlay on an indash pioneer flip out screen than to just fabricate the dash and permanently mount a lcd in there.
Does any one know if the touch panel kits that they are selling are just the touch panel overlays?
If so, how hard to you think it would be to add this overlay to an indash non touch screen?
Do you think that you could add a USB controller to a unit like the pioneer all in one units?
IDK if fabricating the dash is a thing for me to do?
Any help on this subject will be greaty appreciated. THanks guys.. and yes i haveand
ed my *** into oblivion but im still

Honestly if your going to go through all that trouble trying to put a touch overlay into a non-touch in-dash LCD, you should just buy a motorized indash touchscreen LCD. It will be much easier and will work much better. Even if you get the touch overlay into the pioneer the best your going to get as far as display goes is composite or s-vid which coming from a computer is going to look like crap.

Yea, you guys are all correct. IDK what i was thinking of when i came up with the pioneer add on idea.. I think im going to start with a 7 inch Lili or Xenarc and fab a removable mount on my dash. Maybe a gooseneck or something so it can be moved around. IM really only going to use the carputer for mp3/navigation anyway. I have a sony vaio and Have a car PC on the way Ill have to decide which one to use.. but im leaning toward a dedicated car Pc for now with a a chetto set up till i can come up with a fabrication method. I wanna get a replacement dash bezel piece to do the work on first so i can just pop it in when im done.. there really isnt too much room in the jeep :-) Thanks for your help.. When i finally start.. im going to start a project site for this too.
