Those BASTARDS at USCDRoms (place I told you guys to get the $35 GPS) decided to do a "surprise cancellation" on my order. WTH

Must be out of stock, but to cancel an order without notice, thats pretty poor buisiness practice.

First baber.com, now this. All these small crap mom-pop shops suck.

So out of all the people on this discussion board that have a LCD setup, only ONE of them has one that displays GPS well? Come on guys... I need some good input here.

I have copilot running on a 6.8" LCD (NTSC)
Works beautifully, I made the street name fonts a little bigger and bolded. But like mentioned before the nice thing about copilot is that you dont really need to read street names...the driver mode is awesome showing big arrows and big fonts =)

i have some pics on my url if you wanna check em out.

pool guy: Font size in Street Altas

PoolGuy: I noticed in your pics it appears that you have managed to adjust the font size of street descriptions in Street Atlas, If true let me know how you did it.

    Thanks

    Hey Lowcash,

The increased font sizes on the map display are the result of the "magnify" function in SA Deluxe. I jumped from SA7 to Deluxe, so I'm not sure which version this first appeared in. This only works with the map display, it does not resize toolbar fonts, etc. This isn't an issue with my VGA screen, but might be with a composite screen. IIRC Chuck E. (author of Cobra, always "bussy" coding) might have a registry tweak for font sizes on older versions of SA.

"Magnify" is one of very few improvements I've found in Deluxe, as compared to SA7.

Me likes: Better mobile map colors, voice control, updated map data, abilty to add streets

Me dislikes: unbearably slow load time, static toolbars, points of interest are way off, required registry hacking for 640x480 display, nags to increase resolution if below 800x600, generally harder to control, via touchscreen, than SA7

Sorry for the rant, hope this helps

dammit....$40 for a gps receiver is damm cheap I wanted to get one but I gues they are all out of them.

Anyway i recently got my hands on copilot 2002 and like 2001 you can edit the street names font in a cfg file in the root of the exe file.
This makes street names very nice and readable ( at least on my composite 6.8" LCD)
My bro has a 5" LCD and i can read it there too.

Unfortunatelly, Copilot 2002 comes bundled with their own receiver and it costs $400, but if you get a randmcnally it's guaranteed to work also. =)

I also tested both receivers...the randmcnally against the copilot USB receiver and the copilot USB is DEFINITELLY better... it locks sattelites within 30 sec while the randmcnally took a while (1-2min). I guess you get what you pay for.

If you wanna hookup with cp2002 if you got a randmcnally drop me an email and maybe we can work something out =p
